HVAC questions, answered clearly

For HVAC questions in Glendale, Cool Climate gives clear answers about repairs, new systems, rebates and booking. Use them to understand your options before you call.

Repairs

Often, yes. Warm air has several possible causes, so an inspection shows whether repair makes sense.

Uneven temperatures can come from airflow, ductwork or equipment. For example, restricted ducts keep air from reaching some rooms.

Leave the building and call your gas utility from a safe place. Don’t use electrical switches or inspect the furnace yourself. Also, keep working carbon monoxide alarms at home.

New systems

It depends on the equipment’s condition and the problem. First, we assess the system; then we explain the options.

Yes. Replacements need a permit, and most residential installs also need independent HERS/ECC verification.

Many new residential systems use A2L refrigerants such as R-454B and R-32. These lower-GWP options meet EPA’s new-equipment rules.

Rebates & rules

Glendale Water & Power customers who install qualifying equipment. The system you replace and the current rules decide eligibility.

Gas-to-heat-pump: $1,000 per ton, up to $5,000. Heat pump replacement: $500 per ton, up to $2,500. A paired panel upgrade: $1,000.

The reach code allows a heat pump or a new AC with efficiency upgrades, with exceptions. Its start date waits for state approval.
